Find what you want, copy the file path.

Open GoldWave: File > Open > File Name: Paste Location > Open.

Change the volume: Effect > Volume > Change Volume
Generally, the medium of the waves should be near the 1.0 marker (it's below the green play button).

The volume was amplified to 200%.

This will be the highest quality save. "Menu_loop_Orginal"

Open Sound Recorder: Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder
File > Open > The file just saved using GoldWave.

File > Save As > Format - Change > Attributes > 8.000kHz, 16 Bit, Mono 15 kb/sec
Other attributes can be used as well, as long as it is 16 Bit Mono. Although, anything higher than 16.000kHz, 16 Bit, Mono 31 kb/sec is unnecessary.
Note: 16.000kHz, 16 Bit, Mono 31 kb/sec highly recommended.

General and Summary properties of the Wave saved with different attributes.

The editor used is your choice. Here, StarForge is used.

Scenario > Sounds

Import the file saved from Sound Recorder and save.

Using PROEdit, open the map which was saved with the map editor. This program compresses the sound file further, which is why 16 Bit was used earlier.

Check out the size difference after using PROEdit, compared to the 16 Bit attributes mentioned. Dramatic size differential...
Random notes:
- When inputting Waves into a map, make it the last thing to do.
- Once you saved with PROEdit, opening the map with an editor will undo its compression process.
- Make several backups, always have a backup that has no Waves in it.
- Always keep the original high quality wave.
- If you want protection, try reopening the file with PROEdit and select the Protect button.
